Artists Demonstrating during “Artists in Action” for a SUPER SATURDAY of Family Fun


The Trinity County Arts Council is holding the annual Artists in Action Festival on Saturday, October 13, 11 to 3pm on the sidewalks of Main Street Weaverville.


This event will coincide with the Salmon Festival in the Highland Art Center Meadow and the Dutch Oven Cook-Off on the Jake Jackson Museum grounds.   

Our arts loving population of adults and families can easily enjoy all 3 events with educational activities for kids, live music, delicious food, coupled with an opportunity to meet and watch award-winning crafters and artists from the North State create their art

for a Super Saturday of Family Fun!


Fresh Air, Roads are Open!



Activities will stretch along Main Street.

  • The band “Moonshine” will set the tempo playing great dance music on the deck of Angela’s Bead Art
  • Kids Activities; Seth will demonstrate the many techniques of YOYO 
  • Big ART RAFFLE at the Band Stand.
  • 30+ Artists will demonstrate their crafts on the sidewalks in front of our many specialty shops including:. 

          - Ventriloquist Colleen Tanenbaum will entertain with chimpanzee Jane Goodie and her friends.

          - VaLynn Crafford demonstrating the ancient art of "needle felting" used to create wearable art and adorable critters.

          - Fabric artists will be making quilt pieces, teaching knitting and crocheting. 

          - Jean Lam will finesse gold and silver into unique jewelry in front of Gold Rush Jewelers.

          - Ceramic artists will form and glaze clay pieces in front of Main Street Gallery. 

          -  Bay Area painter Rise Mezo will paint in front of their shop, Mezo Zoica. 

          -  Learn the art of Batik

          -  Watch Angel develop detailed and beautiful paintings using spray paint. 

Follow the activities to the Highland Art Center grounds where John Garrett and Keiki will invite you to participate in RAKU Magic, glazing and firing ceramic pieces in an outdoor kiln.  


Fascinating and Fun activities from 11-3pm at the Artists in Action Festival.

We are accepting applications for demonstrating artists for this free experience.


Participating artists Must be actively demonstrating their crafts and may sell their work.

There is NO CHARGE to participate, however, we request a quality piece of your art to auction during the afternoon, and as a marketing tool to drive people to your booth.

The Highland Art Center garden will host many activities for adults and children including an activity to tie dye a t-shirt .


Moonshine will amp up the tempo,  performing during the day on Angela’s Bead Art deck. (To Be Confirmed!)


Down the street, the Annual Salmon Festival will provide many activities and live bands through the day.  The Dutch Oven Cook-off will take place at the Jake Jackson Museum.  Many Reasons to Visit Weaverville.


Enjoy a fast drive on newly paved hwy 299 and you will drop into our 1850’s historic setting, landing in the midst of Artists in Action. Come join us for Family Fun.
