It is those who stay true to their passions and persevere in the midst of life's adversities that give the rest of us courage to believe in ourselves and our unique abilities.
Persistence requires focus, dedication, courage, fearlessness and patience. Persistence requires hard work, self-knowledge and absolute inner strength. Throughout the ages, female artists were not given the recognition they deserved as talented artists and yet in spite of this, many women chose to stay true to their passions and to create the kind of work we can appreciate today in this exhibit. Their persistence to believe in themselves and in their work inspires us to have this type of inner strength and courage.
monca is honored to showcase the creative works of over 60 female artists from Northern California featured in this exhibit, including those of the late Claudia Steel and Dr. Anne Pierce. All of these women persisted in their passion to create artwork while leading demanding lives -- raising families, being devoted partners and working full-time. Their phenomenal work gives us hope to see the beauty in all of life's intricacies as we too hope to exemplify persistence as they have.
